Good Writing – for Everyone Else!

There’s no escape.

These days, everyone writes something. Letters to customers. E-mails and PowerPoint decks to co-workers or supervisors. Reports to work teams. Minutes from meetings. Draft correspondence for executives.

We’ve designed a special, customized workshop for people who have to write at work and need to get better. You’ll learn how to:

  • Employ the fundamentals of good writing. We’ll show you techniques that work no matter what the subject matter—or the format!
  • Put your audience first. Your writing will improve overnight by using our simple formula for organizing a piece of writing around the audience you’re trying to reach.
  • Be clear and direct. Write simple, straightforward e-mails, subject lines and text that compel your audience to read—and act.
  • Tighten up.  No matter what the format, we’ll show you how to omit needless words and eliminate jargon and corporate-speak from your messages.
  • Choose the right words. Use strong verbs and active voice to get your readers’ attention, and ease off on the adjectives and adverbs.
  • Fix common mistakes. We’ll show you how to find and eliminate embarrassing writing errors, grammar mistakes and punctuation gaffes.

Write & Rewrite’s workshops for non-writers are customized. We help employees improve their skills by using the writing they create ever day.

Here’s how it works:

  1.  We’ll talk with you about where communication breaks down in your organization. If you like, we’ll even go find out for you.
  2. We’ll review and analyze your regular business communication, internally and externally.
  3. Based on what we find, we’ll build a workshop that meets your needs.
  4. We’ll come to your shop and hold half-day or full-day sessions, as needed.

When people in an organization don’t write very well, everything else suffers, from innovation to productivity to service. This isn’t about creative writing. It’s about critical communication.

There may be hundreds of people in your organization who need to improve their writing skills, but you couldn’t possibly afford to train them all.

That’s why we come to you! Our workshops hold up to 25 people per class, at a fraction of what it would cost you to send them to a training center or out-of-town workshop.

Drop us a line and we’ll start building a program that fits your organization—and your writing needs.
